The Covid-19 pandemic has been another proof of how important it is to for higher education institutions (HEIs) to cooperate with their wider communities in mutually beneficial ways (both at local and global levels), and has also made more evident than ever the value of such collaborations. In the last years, there has been a renewed emphasis on community engagement in higher education, but in many cases higher education institutions are still lacking a common framework that can support them in institutionalising their cooperation and inform policy-makers on the value of their engagement.

The TEFCE project (Towards a European Framework for Community Engagement in Higher Education) is an Erasmus + KA3 project whose objective is to develop much needed innovative and feasible policy tools at the university and European level for supporting, monitoring and assessing the community engagement of universities.

In this webinar we explored the toolbox developed by the project and learned from a first-person experience in piloting the toolbox at the University of Rijeka (Croatia).
