Latin America and Caribbean Consultation for the UNESCO World Higher Education Conference 2022

In the recent Conference of the Alliance of Ibero-American Networks of Universities for Sustainability and the Environment (ARIUSA) a proposal was approved from the OSES-LAC to manage a significant participation of ARIUSA and the networks that integrate it in the 3rd UNESCO World Higher Education Conference.

As agreed by the ARIUSA Coordination Committee, their participation in this event will focus on the topic "Higher Education and the SDGs" and will coordinate with other university networks in Latin America that also work on this issue. Among them, the CRUE Sustainability of Spain and the Association of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean for Integration (AUALCPI) were initially identified.

Recently, the UNESCO International Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (IESALC) launched its call for the “Consultation of Latin America and the Caribbean for the UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education 2022”. In this consultation, four participation modalities were defined and the ARIUSA Management Committee is currently defining the different actions that it will develop during the coming months to achieve a meaningful participation in the preparatory process and in the same World Conference on Higher Education on the subject " Higher Education and the SDGs ”.
