GUNi signs a Strategic Partnership Agreement with the UfM Secretariat
In the wake of the collaboration initiated on occasion of the GUNi International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals: Actors and Implementation, held in September 2017, GUNi and the Secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean have established a cooperation framework for the upcoming three years through the signature of a memorandum of understanding aimed at continuing to work together in accordance to the mission and objectives of both institutions.
The signature of this agreement, which covers all UfM areas of activity which are of interest for GUNi, will be followed by the implementation of the joint action plan agreed for the year 2018 and develop and strengthen bilateral cooperation concerning areas of common interest, notably in the fields of Higher Education, research and innovation, youth employability, entrepreneurship, women empowerment and gender equality, among others.
Some of the activities whereby GUNi and UfM Secretariat will be collaborating with are the Report Higher Education in the World (HEIW) n. 7 “Humanities and Higher Education; Generating Synergies between Science, Technology and Humanities” (to be published in 2019), the GUNi International Conference “Humanities and Higher Education; Generating Synergies between Science, Technology and Humanities” and the constitution of the expert group on Sustainable Development Goals SDGs.
