GUNi hosts two Online Debates with experts from around the world to discuss the preliminary conceptualisation of the next GUNi Report. It will seek to provide a new vision for higher education institutions for the future

10/11/2020

More than 20 years have passed since the creation of GUNi, but we believe our mission remains more important than ever: to strengthen the role of higher education in society and contribute to the renewal of the visions and policies of higher education across the world under a vision of public service, relevance, social responsibility and innovation.

GUNi hosts two Online Debates with experts from around the world to discuss the preliminary conceptualisation of the next GUNi Report, which will seek to provide a new vision for higher education institutions for the future

In light of the deep transformations that are taking place, with specific characteristics in different parts of the world, but still a global transformation of a global system with similar patterns, there is a need to rethink the role of higher education and its contribution to society. It is in this context that GUNi aims to encourage this necessary and timely discussion by elaborating and editing the next GUNi Report that will be presented in the framework of the 3rd UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education, that will take place in October 2021.

This Report is going to be developed in a participatory process with multiple experts, consultations, and direct participation of different stakeholders to feature a clear and comprehensive structure discussing the ways HEIs may reinvent themselves in the future. In this sense, GUNi hosted two Online Expert’s Debates on the next GUNi Report on the 5th and 6th November 2020, with relevant experts and authors in the field and beyond to debate the conceptual framework of the Report and its approach.
