Mission / Vision

The University of Nyala plans and works to be:
  • A University of Excellence offering research, training and community development programs in highest quality measurement.
  • A University of meetings where:
    1. Students compete.
    1. Community members dialogue and seek advice.
    1. Neighboring regions and countries from North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa as well as from Nile Africa and Niger- Senegal Africa meet through joint research, exchange of staff and students and academic venues.
    1. Cultures and knowledge meet to advance technology and skills to promote the know how of the community.
  • A university Working to :
    1. Develop its consultative abilities providing advice to community institution and individuals for a homeland free of illiteracy, poverty, disease and conflicts.
    1. Provide a model of a community in which the relationship between members is ruled by solid institutional traditions, trust, respect and devotion.
    1. Prepare students to live, work and compete in any part of the world.


The University of Nyala is a public institution established on March 6th 1994 to achieve the following objectives:

  • Emphasize and consolidate Nation’s identity through curricula it approves and applies.
  • Conduct community needs based applied research.
  • Innovate and apply technology to promote the Sudanese community in collaboration with other universities andhigher education institutions. 
  • Promote the environment in Sudan and South Darfur State in Particular and train competent qualified human resources to promote it . 
  • Interact with the rural population so as to understand the problems and recognize the traditional knowledge, work together in order to develop this knowledge in compliance with their needs and values.
  • Pay importance to medical, earth and natural science in the frame-work of Sudan development.
  • Involvement in human development, though and religious values promotion issues. 
  • Train the students to obtain degrees.
