To generate excellent educative models characterised by scientific rigor and interculturality to construct a fairer democratic society.

-To train teachers with values and with the disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge necessary to guarantee the formation of citizens aware and able to contribute to the Common Good;

-Generate training opportunities for the different actors in the education system with a strategic vision and management capacity in their area of ​​expertise;

-Develop educational, pedagogical and didactic research to produce relevant, intercultural, complex knowledge to systematically transform the Ecuadorian Education system;

-Elaborate proposals for the formulation of educational policies in close relation with the actors involved with Ecuadorian education;

-Contribute to progress in the region through inter-university, interdisciplinary and inter-geographical educational and research projects;

-Promote gender equality and intercultural and decolonized education aimed at respecting cultural diversity in order to form tolerant people with an educational and epistemic interculturality that links cultures to each other;

-To professionally, technically, epistemically and scientifically train its students, professors and researchers so that they can dialogue with their peers, with cultures, and with national and international societies;

-To promote experimentation and innovation with teaching models, didactic methods, scenarios and schooling contexts, based on the contributions of contemporary scientific research and sensitive to the needs of society;

-Contribute to the pedagogical training of university teachers and provide references for pedagogical innovation at all levels and stages of the education system;

-To contribute to the creation of international and national high level teaching networks.
