Mission / Vision

The UNESCO Chair at Okayama University was approved by UNESCO in April 2007 and has been carrying out activities in cooperation with educational and research institutes and government organizations in and outside Japan for the purpose of promoting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at higher education institutions.

Goals

  • Foster experts who will contribute to creating a sustainable society on a global level.
  • Foster experts who will get engaged in the activity to create a sustainable society in local level.
  • Reorient the curriculum of Okayama University to contribute to building a sustainable society.
  • Undertake practical education to transfer knowledge and technology through inter-university cooperation.
