Mission / Vision

The University of Macau (UM) wishes to position itself as a university with firm roots in Macao, while at the same time being committed to participating in the development of the Greater Bay Area. UM hopes to integrate itself into national development while reaching out to the world. Through quality student-centred education, key research subjects with international impact, and a high standard of community services, it aspires to become an internationally recognized university of excellence.

Goals

The University of Macau endeavours to leverage its uniqueness and strengths, as highlighted by a learning environment where Chinese culture plays a mejor role and diverse cultures coexist, and by a system of whole-person education underpinned by faculties and residential colleges in an international education setup. Main activities

Founded in 1981, the University of Macau (UM) is an international public comprehensive university in Macao, with a multicultural campus and a system of whole-person education underpinned by faculties and residential colleges in an international education setup. 80% of its faculty members are from outside Macao. With English as the main medium of instruction, the university is committed to producing creative and socially responsible graduates with a global mindset and international competitiveness.
