PPGEdu/UFRGS offers, every semester, a wide variety of disciplines that feature a continually updated configuration of training spaces. The renewal dynamic allows training proposals to follow advances in research and knowledge production in the area, as well as enabling professors to remain up to date on research and teaching topics. At PPGEDU, didactic, scientific, and administrative activities are carried out, including:
1) Procedures for requesting accreditation and reaccreditation of the faculty from the Postgraduate Board, in the categories of Permanent Professor, Visiting Professor, and Collaborating Professor, in accordance with the regulations of the Teaching, Research, and Extension Council of the University (CEPE/UFRGS), in order to ensure a profile that meets minimum requirements for research output, guidance, and teaching activities.
2) Selection and enrollment of master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral students, in the categories of scholarship holder, non-scholarship holder, external student, and foreign student attending the Program through an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
3) Curricular organization, semester offerings of courses, Advanced Seminars, Directed Readings, Research Practices, Special Seminars, and assessment of enrolled students. The Research Lines and professors present their proposals for training spaces, which are analyzed and approved by the Program Coordinating Committee.
4) Guidance and evaluation of research proposals from graduate students, dissertation and thesis projects, as well as dissertations and theses.
5) Participation in scientific events, production of articles for scientific journals, books, and book chapters, as well as the creation of texts and other materials for scientific dissemination by faculty, students, and alumni.
6) Monitoring of alumni and self-assessment of PPGEDU;
7) Budget preparation, fundraising from funding agencies, and production of financial reports.
