GUNi starts new period with ACUP as host Institution
The Global University Network for Innovation was created by UNESCO,
the United Nations University (UNU) and the Universitat Politècnica de
Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC) 15 years ago. In the last eight years the
network has consolidated its activities, increased its international
presence and become a well know reference in the analysis and
dissemination of higher education (HE) emerging issues worldwide.

GUNi joins the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site Knowledge Center
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is now home of a unique research
center in Europe set up by leading institutions in the fields of
sustainability, health, education and culture. Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site
hosts seven cutting-edge offices of international organizations that
aim to develop joint initiatives geared to finding meaningful responses
to the challenges of the 21st Century.

Great Transition Initiative Launches new Website
For over a decade, the Great Transition Initiative (GTI) has
advanced a visionary scenario of a future rooted in human solidarity,
well-being for all, and ecological sustainability. With the slogan
"Toward a Transformative Vision and Praxis", it now enters a new phase
with renewed energy and heightened sense of urgency.

The UOC extends its e-learning model to the Middle East with a project in Jordan
The UOC, together with other European universities, will be leading a
three-year project that has the support of the Jordanian government and
institutions to develop quality standards in e-learning initiatives
that will be applied in blended on-site and distance learning courses.
The UOC hosted the kick-off meeting of the project from 10 to 12 March
at Barcelona's MediaTIC

Launch of the GUNi Report in Malta
The Senate Council Chambers at the University of Malta was the
location of the HEIW5 launch in La Velette, Malta on April 23, on the
occasion of the 6th International Conference of the Popular Education
Network.
