CV summary

Born in Barcelona in 1973. He holds a degree in Political Science and Administration from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and a Diploma in Management from the School Of Public Administration of Catalonia. He is the author of the books Idees perilloses (Ed. Els Llums, 2014), Entre el símbol i la institució (Ed. Angle, 2010) and Cròniques d’indignació (Ed. Clavell, 2012), and co-author of Som laics? 17 mirades sobre la laïcitat (Ed. Els Llums, 2013) and Objecció: la revolta pacificsta (Ed. Neopatria, 1998). He has had professional responsibilities in the field of public management. Between 2006 and 2010 he was the head of the office of the Vice President of the Government of Catalonia and from 2003 until 2006 he was the second mayor of the City Council of Barcelona. He is currently the director of the international area of the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barcelona. In the field of social action, he has been Director General of the Francesc Ferrer and Guàrdia Foundation (from 2011 until July 2015), member of the editorial board of the Magazine Espai de llibertat (2005-2015) and member of the governing council of the cooperative ENCÍS3 (2013-2016). He entered the Board of Directors of the Third Sector Board in July 2012 as responsible for the area of ​​internationalization. Its associative trajectory is basically linked to two areas: the pacifist and that of leisure education. In relation to the former, he was part of the movements of conscientious objection at the beginning of the 90. As for the second, he was linked to scouting since a very young age and in 2004 he was president of Acció Escolta de Catalunya, an entity that is part of the Catalan Scout and Guiding Federation. He was co-founder of the youth organization of the UGT of Catalonia, AVALOT and, on behalf of this entity he chaired the National Council of Youth of Catalonia (CNJC) between 2001 and 2003. On July 16, 2015, he was elected president of the Third Social Sector of Catalonia.
