Iman El-Kaffass is Sr. Adviser to the Association of Arab Universities (AArU) headquartered in Amman, Jordan. Iman is an international consultant in education and capacity development working with international development and donor organizations including UNFAO, the European Commission, USAID, IDRC, and CGIAR. El-Kaffass worked and consulted in education and management with government agencies, public and private enterprises as well as global and local NGOs. Assignments covered Africa, the Near East and North Africa (NENA), Europe, and the Americas. El-Kaffass received her PhD in in Higher Education Administration with focus on Organizational Assessment and Development from Ohio, USA.
During the years when she worked as Associate Dean for Student Development at the American University in Cairo, Egypt, she secured and managed international funding through which she applied her approach of comprehensive student development in higher education ensuring positive integration into the global goals as well as the personal goals. Since then, she succeeded in scaling out her experience to universities in Africa and the NENA region, and continues to promote the concepts of universities without walls and that of the living learning environment. El-Kaffass has visited and lectured in international universities in Africa, Europe, Canada and the United States. El-Kaffass works in three languages English, French, and Arabic.
