The 9st edition of this award aims to promote new ideas that contribute to foster democratic values from a critical point of view as well as share initiatives that help to the social and personal development of society. 

Federico Mayor Zaragoza Prize: Competition of good practices and actions to build a better world

The Association of friends of UNESCO of Tortosa (Catalonia) organizes the ninth edition of the Federico Mayor Zaragoza prize under the subject  'Good practices and actions to build a better world’. The prize will be awarded next April 16th 2016 in Tortosa, chaired by Federico Mayor Zaragoza, currently Chairman of the Foundation for a Culture of Peace. Mayor Zaragoza was also the Director-General of UNESCO from 1987 to 1999.

The award recognizes the experience of schools, colleges, institutions or volunteers’ teams that contribute to the formation of free, responsible and committed people. Furthermore, encourages projects that foster democratic values from a critical and supportive vision as well as share creative initiatives that help to the social and personal development of society.  

The prize includes three categories: Education, Culture and, a special set on Terres de l’Ebre.

Projects should be submitted until January 20th 2016.
