Guide to Higher Education in Africa: 5th Edition

With the fifth edition of the Guide to Higher Education in Africa, the Association of African Universities (AAU) and International Association of Universities (IAU) pursue the effort to make reliable and up-to-date information on higher education in Africa available and easily accessible.
Our objectives are to promote interchange, contacts and cooperation among higher education institutions in Africa; to encourage increased exchanges between African higher education institutions and the international academic community; and to disseminate information on higher education and research in Africa.
The guide has been produced using the global database maintained at the IAU/UNESCO Information Centre on Higher Education in Paris. The AAU provided assistance with dissemination and collection of information in the field.
Institutional entries have been updated and revised from 750 for 50 African countries to details of 950 institutions of higher education in 51 African countries for the current edition. Where information was not available in time for inclusion, entries are based on date already in the database.
