CV SummaryRamzi Salamé received his B.A. in psychology from the Lebanese University, his M.A. in school psychology and his Doctorate in psychological foundations of education from the University of Montreal. He started his professional life as a teacher in Lebanon. Afterwards, he held various academic positions at Montreal University and Laval University in Canada ending with professorial rank. Between 1994 and 2008, he worked as senior specialist of higher education and acting director for the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in the Arab States (Beirut). Since then, he served as principal consultant for the reorganization of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Lebanon and principal consultant to the UN Group as regards the reform of the education and higher education systems in Iraq. He also contributed to the First Arab Knowledge Report published in 2009 by UNDP and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, and to the Third Report on Cultural Development to be published in 2011 by the Arab Thought Foundation. He is currently Delegate of the Rector of Saint-Joseph University (Beirut) for Quality Assurance. Professor Salamé’s research interests are primarily focused on quality assurance of higher education, organization of the ministries of education and higher education, and enhancement of the qualifications, competencies, and performance of teaching personnel. He has prepared reports and strategies for the development of education in many Arab States.
