María Laura Ortiz was General executive secretary of the Mexican Consortium University of Environmental Programs for Sustainable Development (COMPLEXUS) from 2009 to March, 2011. General Coordinator of the University Environmental Management Program (PROGAU) of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Morelos (UAEM), Mexico, from which the environmental policies of the institution (such as environmental management, greening and curriculum of higher educational programs) are designed. She is now full time professor and researcher at UAEM and leads the Environmental Research Lab.
