Arjen Wals is Professor of Social Learning and Sustainable Development and holds a UNESCO Chair in the same field. A Fulbright scholar, Arjen obtained his PhD in 1991 from the University of Michigan. A central question in his work is how to support new forms of learning that take full advantage of diversity, creativity and resourcefulness in shaping a world that is more sustainable than the one currently in prospect.
