Launch of UNESCO Chair in India

The launch was done jointly on 10 December with a symposium on Community-based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education Dr. Budd Hall at University of Victoria (Canada) and Dr. Rajesh Tandon from the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) are co-chairs in this unique south-north partnership between academia and civil society. The UNESCO Chair on Community-based Research and Social Responsibility in Higher Education wants to promote the practice of community-based research strengthening linkages between communities and institutions of higher education. The aim of the Chair is to create opportunities and spaces of encounter where students and communities of the 21st century can become more active, engaged citizens in the creation of knowledge for a more just and sustainable world.
