UDUAL Assembly tackles Higher Educational Policy in Mexico
The members of the Mexican Region of the UDUAL propose a strategic action plan for Higher Education
The Association of Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean (UDUAL) organised its first Assembly of Higher Education Institutions that took place in Guadalajara from 20 to 21 September 2012. It culminated with the Guadalajara Declaration which calls for: 1) the development of a strategic plan for higher education; 2) the inclusion of extraordinary programme support to strategic development areas in the regular budget of higher education institutions; 3) the establishment of a regulatory framework that defines budgetary limits.
The discussed topics at the assembly were:
- The autonomy of the university
- Academical mobility and networks of educational cooperation
- Digital tools in higher education
- Accreditation and certification
