Kenya to work towards eliminating illegal colleges

In an effort to improve the quality of education offered in what are principally technical, industrial, vocational, and entrepreneurship training (TIVET) colleges Kenya has put 200 colleges on notice for operating under invalid licenses, as well as levying criminal charges against managers of 21 such institutes. In addition to improving the quality of legitimate colleges, this persecution will help divert USD $56 million in donated funds towards the renovation of existing, officially licensed, TIVET institutes.
