On 27-28 October 2011, Strathmore University held the 8th Ethics Conferece. The theme of this year's conference is "The Role of Ethics in Nation Building: The Balance between Unity and Cultural Diversity". The conference was inaugurated by Mr Charles Nyachae, the Chairman of the Constitutional Implementation Commission.
The ethics conference is one of the most significant events in Strathmore University. It was launched in 2003 as a unique discussion forum where the most diverse and innovative ideas on how to achieve the common good are discussed, shared and challenged.
The conferences have turned Strathmore into a workshop of ideas that have produced measurable results, such as the National Value System, whose birth was first discussed at the 6th Annual Ethics Conference on Leadership in 2009.
