Working groups

WG5: Civic engagement

WG5: Higher Education in the World 5

The aim of this working group is to develop the structure and the contents of the next GUNi report, which will be the 5th issue of the GUNi series on the social commitment of universities. This report looks at critical dimensions in our understandings of the roles, and the potential roles, of higher education institutions as active players in building more equitable, sustainable, and democratic societies. It looks at our changing understandings about who the agents of knowledge creation are and how knowledge is linked to our aspirations for a better world. It offers us elements of a vision for a renewed, socially responsible relationship between higher education, knowledge and society.

WG4: Universities in transition

The final goal of this working group, is to think of how to accelerate the processes of transformation towards sustainability in higher education institutions (HEIs).  To do so, the study conducted by GUNi will be broken down and the barriers analyzed, and the newly proposed solutions will be evaluated as viable actions.  We must also think of how to implement them. The findings of the group will result in a paper or plan of action marking the ideas and lines of work towards which the transitions to sustainability should advance.
