International Observatory of University Reforms

The Observatory of University Reforms (ORUS) was constituted in July 2002, following on a network composed by European and South-American academics. Since that date, ORUS has become a motivating tool with its own mission: the promotion, within the university community, of actions of change, of research, of follow up and/or of promotion on issues concerning reforms of the thought, which is the ensemble of knowledge system and transmission through which we constitute a scientific and pedagogic culture.

Observatorio CUD

The Observatory of the University Development Cooperation is an initiative of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE), in coordination with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECI) and the Ministry of International Cooperation Ministry Affairs and Cooperation (SECI) through the Directorate General of Planning and Evaluation for Development Policy (DGPOLDE).

Social Responsibility of Universities Observatory

The Pontificia Universidad Javeriana's Social Responsibility of Universities Observatory aims to coordinate a national and international academic network to i) promote constant debate on the social responsibility of universities, ii) systematise and disseminate experiences related to the social responsibility of universities, and iii) consolidate interdisciplinary, crossdisciplinary and interuniversity social projects in response to situations such as inequality, poverty, violence, corruption and environmental deterioration.The Observatory’s mission is to forge relationships with all state and international higher education institutions in order to gather academic experiences and information on the social responsibility of universities and to contribute to undertaking interinstitutional and interdisciplinary joint projects.

ALFA Observatory

The project "ALFA Observatory" was selected as part of Lot 3 (Accompanying Measures) of Programme ALFA III. ALFA Observatory is responsible for identifying/promoting synergies among all 14 projects selected in the scope of the first Call for Applications, collect, centralise and disseminate information, data, statistics and results relative to all ALFA III projects, as well as identify and disseminate good practices during the implementation of all ALFA projects of the present and previous phases of Programme ALFA.

Portal of Higher Education Initiatives

The portal is under constant construction, an evolving catalogue of currently existing projects, initiatives, experiences and activities in the region that allows HEI to learn what their counterparts are doing on specific matters to promote debates, collaboration and the exchange of ideas. In a region as large and diverse as Latin America and the Caribbean, with more than 9,000 HEI, it’s very difficult to know the reality in which we find ourselves. As a virtual tool, the Initiatives Portal makes it easy for institutions to register their projects, experiences and programs and as a result create a current panorama to develop policies that will improve the quality of HE. It’s an initiative of UNESCO-IESAC and part of ENLACES that seeks to become a reference site for HEI so that researchers, professors, students and other interested players can interact with one another and learn about the projects underway in the region.

The Observatory on Borderless Higher Education

The Observatory is a global strategic services organisation that conducts high level research and disseminates emerging trends, best practices, policy frameworks, and assessment and quality assurance information relevant to cross-border higher education programme delivery across the globe.

University Innovation Observatory (OUI)

The OUI, at the Universidad de Colima, is a multi-dimensional space comprised of thematic networks for collaborative work that, in a periodic and systematic way, include all the qualitative and quantitative information relevant to the institution on internal and external innovative processes for later coordination and dissemination. It is a space destined for research, study and analysis of innovations, as well as a mechanism that promotes and evaluates the present and future behavior of a process. The work of the networks enables specific or multidisciplinary in-depth analysis and studies of a specific subject, which it is hoped will have extensive repercussions on decision-making at the institutional level.

Observatorio de la Cooperación Universitaria al Desarrollo

UNESCO ESD Good Practices

The UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development aims to see Education for Sustainable Development implemented in thousands of local situations on the ground. These initiatives can be catalysts for further action and contribute to the goals and objectives of the Decade; and thus, organizations and individuals can be actors in the global movement for sustainable development.
