UNESCO and Baçeşehir University sign a Memorandum of Understanding promoting dialogue amongst cultures, social cohesion and peace
Both entities agree to cooperate in the areas of culture and human rights education
Present at the signature of this agreement, which took place in UNESCO’s Headquarters in Paris, were Ms. Irina Bokova (Director-General of UNESCO), H. E. Mr. Tahsin Burcuoglu (Ambassador of Turkey to France), Mr. Gurcan Turkoglu (Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Republic of Turkey to UNESCO), Mr. Enver Yücel (President of Baçeşehir University Board of Trustees), and Mr. Abe Radkin (Executive Director of the Aladdin Project).
The aim of this initiative is to build joint ventures that explore the potential of culture and education to solve intercultural dialogue and human rights education challenges, such as inequity of opportunities in education. Furthermore, this cooperation wants to develop post-graduate and interdisciplinary research on social issues from a human rights perspective.
