In Quality We Trust? – Investigating the Impact of More than Two Decades of QA in European Higher Education: Call for Contributions

The Zeitschrift für Hochschulentwicklung (ZFHE – Journal for Development of Higher Education Institutions) is opening this call for a special issue on Quality Assurance to be published in January 2013. This special publication wants to make a critical yet constructive assessment of the status quo of quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area, by focusing on the question of the effects and effectiveness of quality assurance, quality management, quality enhancement and quality development in the mentioned region in the last decades.

For this purpose, the editors invite all higher education researchers, practitioners and experts to elaborate on the proposed question in the form of a critical discussion of the current situation in quality assurance and derived fields. Contributions can be focused either at the micro-level (individual models, approaches or instruments), meso-level (specific organizations and communities) or macro-level (international systems and institutional fields).

The deadline for submissions is 14 September 2012.
