ACU conference from a gendered perspective
The conference entitled “Critical Women: Women as Agents of Change through Higher Education”
Focused on a gendered perspective, issues related to equity, education and development were explored. The gender issue was considered through the lenses of leadership, economic development, benefit to student and to society, HIV/AIDS, and research.
Thereby, the conference endeavored to emphasize in women rights to develop their careers and their capacity to influence positively within society. The objective of the event was the assumption that universities can boost the overcoming of women discrimination and can lead a transformative perception about women.
