(In)Corporate Sustainability Conference aims to focus on the synergies that are to be created from combining the insights on sustainability challenges and solutions from different disciplines, answering the need for an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach for creating a systemic change towards sustainability. The current sustainability challenge demands cooperation, cross-sectoral knowledge and the cooperation of the private and public actors, and this conference seeks to provide a continuous yearly forum in Barcelona for that knowledge to be exchanged, thereby facilitating advancements in the joint goal of sustainability.
Following the public calls for action and the limited progress made at COP25 in Madrid on climate action, the scientific community, businesses and public authorities are all answering the call for action not only on the issue of climate emergency, but also on other issues connected with sustainability: from tackling pollution, resource scarcity and advancing the social aspects of sustainability. Awareness of the need for action and the limited time frame for enacting the proposed changes accelerated the developments in the field of sustainability from the diverse market actors: businesses, public administrations and academia.
The conference aims to bring together many distinguished researchers in sustainability science from all over the world. Participants will find opportunities for presenting new research, exchanging information, and discussing the current issues. Furthermore, to support the inter and multidisciplinary approach of sustainability science, we welcome any and all suggestions for workshops, best practice presentations for private entities and public authorities in the three respective fields as well as poster presentations of successful projects on sustainability in those fields.
The conference follows the structure of the SCOM Project, focusing on:
- Sustainable Public Procurement on the 16th September 2020
- Sustainable Corporate Practices on the 17th September 2020
- Sustainable Changes to Higher Education Curricula on the 18th September 2020
Organizers are welcoming contributions connected with (but not limited to) those respective fields. They furthermore encourage any other empirical or theoretical contributions in the field of sustainability that correspond with the above mentioned fields. Contributions are to be sent to email@example.com.
The admitted works will be published in a special issue of the Sustainability journal (ISSN 2071-1050), subject to a peer-review procedure, which has been designed to further sustainability science and blur accordingly the traditionally rigid boundaries between academic disciplines.
