Congreso de las Américas sobre Educación Internacional (CAEI)
The Conference of the Americas on International Education (CAEI) is the continental forum of excellence that brings together the main actors and decision-makers related to the internationalization of higher education in the Americas to strengthen contacts, exchange experiences, and chart the future of the academic cooperation in the region.
The CAEI is organized every two years in a different host country in alliance with national, regional and international higher education institutions and organizations, offering a platform from which emerging challenges and trends, as well as good practices, are made known. related to international education in the continent.
The growing dynamism on the international scene of the institutions and associations of higher education of the host country is a sign of the great interest in organizing a world-class meeting that allows projecting the diversity and quality of the academic offer and establishing a dialogue with the participants about the current challenges and trends in international education both in the region and in the world.
Josep M. Vilalta, GUNi director and executive-secretary at ACUP, will be moderating the session "Education for Sustainable Development: Engaging Higher Education (Expert Panel)" on Oct. the 19th, 2021.
Description of the session: Our global community faces urgent challenges that condition and may compromise our future. Solutions have been identified but their successful implementation undoubtedly relies on the active involvement of higher education institutions. Building a global community of knowledge would provide us with a platform from which to facilitate exchanges and articulate shared solutions to our greatest challenges. In this session we will learn how highly engaged institutions have adopted the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and are working within their communities to promote development and guarantee long-term sustainability.
