Director of the Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations (IDDRI, SciencesPo) in Paris, key institution in the construction of the Paris Climate Agreement. Between 2008 and 2011 she was Secretary of State for Climate Change in the Spanish Government, responsible for environmental and climate policies, as well as the State Meteorological Agency. She is an employee of the Superior Corps of State Civil Administrators and has been an associate professor of environmental law at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She is a Member of the Board of Directors of the Stockholm Environment Institute, the Institut pour la Recherche du Développement, the Advisory Council of the Club of Madrid and the Global Leadership Council of the United Nations Network for Sustainable Development (UNSDSN) and co-chairs the Spanish chapter of said network. She chairs the Advisory Council for the Momentum for Change initiative of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and is a member of the Milan Group on Food Security and Climate Change promoted by the United Nations Secretary-General; Was part of the Global Advisory Council on Climate of the World Economic Forum between 2014 and 2016.
