Sæbø is professor in statistics, but holds currently the position as prorector of education at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, a university with a clear strategic focus on sustainable development. He has close to 20 years of experience in statistical research and teaching, and in latter years his focus of educational research has been on how the learning experience can be adapted to the individual student by taking different aspects of cognition into consideration, from the level of neurons in the brain, via neuronal networks to
the level of personality psychology and adaptive pedagogics. He is a member of the National Committee for Agenda 2030 in the university sector in Norway and leading the work on a digital platform for sharing best practice for higher education for sustainable development in Norway.
