She holds a PhD in Journalism by Pompeu Fabra University (2005) and is a graduate in Sociology by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1995) and in Information Sciences by the same university (1993).
She worked as a journalist and a sociologist before joining UPF in 1998 as a teacher. Since 2008 she has been a tenured lecturer of the Department of Communication of UPF where she teaches different subjects of journalism and sociology of consumption and youth on bachelor's and master's degree programmes.
Her line of research is based on youth and communication paying special attention to the gender variable, the ethics of communication and media education. From the start, she has coordinated the communications module of the official interuniversity master's degree on Youth and Society. Her research has led her to participate in several competitive research projects on different aspects of journalistic ethics, gender and communication, youth in the media, and audiovisual literacy, and has published several articles.
She has held a variety of positions at the University: co-director of the doctoral programme (2007-2009), director of studies for Journalism (2006-2008), secretary of the Department of Communication, and assistant director of Postgraduate courses and of Coordination in the Department of Communication (2008-2013).
