Director of the Studies Center on Science, Communication and Society from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (SCS-UPF), associated professor of Science Communication and Director of the Masters' degree in Scientific, Medical and Environmental Communication at the same university. Gema Revuelta is one of the 5 members of the “Expert Group on policy indicators for Responsible Research and Innovation” of the European Commission. She has participated in several European projects (HEIRRI, ENSCOT, AMPERA, ESCITY, STEPE, MASIS, PLACES, KiiCS, and NERRI) and other international projects (IBAMOCA). For the last 6 years, and from time to time, she has been an independent evaluator for the EC in the field of Science and Society. She has 20-year experience in different fields from the area of SWAFS, mainly science communication, social perception of science and technology, public engagement, gender equality and, for the last 4 years, RRI. She coordinated the Impact Assessment Toolkit for the project PLACES (Platform of Local Authorities and Cities Engaged in Science), in collaboration with more than 30 European researchers in the area of SWAFS. From 1998 to 2014, she was Deputy Director of the Science Communication Observatory from Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
