CV summary

Professor of Economics at the University of Barcelona and Research Fellow at CEPR (Center for Economic Policy Research) and Research Network Fellow at CESifo. She is the Director of the Chair UB Smart Cities and of the research program ‘Cities’ at the Institut d’Economia de Barcelona (IEB). She was visiting the University of Birmingham as a PhD student and she is a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Economics of the University of California Irvine since 2010. She is and has been the main researcher of  national and international projects. Her main research interest is Urban Economics but it also includes Economic Geography and Public Economics. Her current research topics are: a) the role of the agglomeration economies on the location of the economic activity; b) the impact of infrastructures on city growth, suburbanization, urban congestion and pollution c) the effectiveness of city development policies and land use regulation on city growth, social composition of neighborhoods and housing prices and d) the political economy of coastal destruction. Her research has been published in top journals of her field as the Journal of Urban Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, the Journal of Economic Geography, the Journal of Regional Science or Regional Science and Urban Economics, among others.​
