David Llistar holds a degree and a PhD in physics from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). He is the author of the book Anticooperació. North-South Global Interferences (2009) Barcelona: Icària Editorial. He has been co-founder of the Globalization Debt Observatory (ODG) and the UNESCO Chair in Sustainability. He has taught on political ecology at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). He has spent his last 20 years working in different NGOs, universities, social movements, countries and governments (including the ACCD -Catalan Agency for Cooperation and Development- and the SENPLADES -Ecuadorian Government-) in matter of development, cooperation and environmental and global economic justice. He has focused his activity on the impact of the Spanish economy of the southern countries and on the analysis of development cooperation from the perspective of the coherence of policies for development. Currently, and since february 2016, he is the director of Global Justice and International Cooperation at the Barcelona City Council.
