6th Latin American and the Caribbean Higher Education Conference on Internationalization
The Conference of Latin America and the Caribbean for the internationalization of the higher education are the result of joint work of the Colombian network for the internationalization of the education upper - RCI, the Ministry of national education - MEN, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Colombian Institute of credit and technical studies abroad - ICETEX and the Colombian Association of universities - ASCUN. These conferences started in the year 2009 under the premise of which the process of internationalization of higher education is a key element to ensure the quality of the educational programs in the world.

GUNi Regional Corners
The presentation of the report Higher Education in the World 5 Knowledge, Engagement and Higher Education contributing to social change took place on October 14 in Barcelona. The event, held in the Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site, where GUNi’s headquarters are located, gathered around 150 participants among university presidents and vici-presidents, politicians, academics, professionals of higher education, policy-makers and representatives of civil society.
An agreement between GUNi and the University of Guadalajara (UDEG), in Mexico, has been signed on July 18 to stablish the regional office of GUNi-LAC in this University with the aim to reinforce the network in this region.
The Global University Network for Innovation was created by UNESCO, the United Nations University (UNU) and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-BarcelonaTech (UPC) 15 years ago. In the last eight years the network has consolidated its activities, increased its international presence and become a well know reference in the analysis and dissemination of higher education (HE) emerging issues worldwide.
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is now home of a unique research center in Europe set up by leading institutions in the fields of sustainability, health, education and culture. Sant Pau Art Nouveau Site hosts seven cutting-edge offices of international organizations that aim to develop joint initiatives geared to finding meaningful responses to the challenges of the 21st Century.

The GUNi Report presented in Argentina
CLAYSS (The Latin American Center for Service Learning) presented the report in its 17th annual "Learning and Solidary Service" seminar, held on August 28 and 29 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The seminar was attended by more than 400 civic engagement practitioners coming from Latin American countries.
Higher Education in the World 5 launched in Stellenbosch University, South Africa
On August 28, Dr. Rajesh Tandon, co-director of the UNESCO Chair in Community Based Research and Social Responsibility and President of PRIA, presented the GUNi report in Stellenbosch University, South Africa. Dr. Tandon, also gest editor of this publication, pointed out that Universities have a responsibility to help effect social change.
World Report Launch at University of Lisbon
On the occasion of the Conference in Local Change, Social Actions and Adult Learning: Challenges and Responens, the GUNi report was launched in Lisbon (Portugal) on June 27.

The meeting was hold in the University of Victoria and gathered about 150 participants related to the UNESCO fields.
